P001 → Human (Is) Nature
Human (Is) Nature was a performance art work that invited the public to reorient toward enchantment with the environment.
Artist Bri Horne was present in nature on Bunurong and Boonwurrung Country, from first light (5:51am) to last light (8:26pm), moving however the animal body felt to move for the duration of the sun’s presence. The audience was welcome to participate or observe.
Human (Is) Nature aims to dissolve the conditioned distance between human and nature, and is a soft, active rebelling against the duration of our precious time that is consumed by technology.
The durational work was live-streamed to Hope St Radio on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country via a platform traditionally used for business meetings.
This performance art work is an exploration of presence as practice: embodied presence with self, with place, with community, and with the more-than-human.
